What you can do to support Rewilding

There are many ways you can be a part of the movement to restore Britain’s countryside to a beautiful, rich and diverse ecosystem once again. All support is hugely appreciated as there has never been a more critical time for action.

Join a local group and Volunteer

Find a local rewilding initiative that you can get involved with. There are currently 9 local groups part of the Rewilding Britain network across the UK, you can see which one is nearest to you and find out how they need help.

There are also numerous smaller organisations such as @moortrees @healrewilding @treesforlifeuk @cairngormsconnect  who are scattered across the UK that would value support, or you could reach out to nearest local national park or wildlife trust and see if they have any local groups!

Write to your MP

Try contacting your local MP directly and explaining how important rewilding and ecological care are to you. MPs need to know what it is you value, and have a duty to listen – their job is to represent you in Parliament. There’s some good advice on how to write about wildlife issues on the Wildlife Trust’s site.

Get your workplace involved

Talk to your colleagues and employers and see if your workplace could support rewilding efforts either through fundraising or volunteering days. They could also partner with a rewilding initiative and offer ongoing support to their efforts. Rewilding Britain have a section on corporate partners.

Volunteer for a local project

Find a local project you can directly support with your time and efforts. Many projects need volunteer help with maintenance, tree planting and more. You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about rewilding and learn new skills. There are 17 currently active projects in the Rewilding Britain network so find out where you can help out.
