Description
One of the rarest and largest birds of prey in the British Isles, the awesome White Tailed Eagle travels for hundreds of miles, soaring through valleys and patrolling the coast preying on fish, mammals and other smaller birds. Once largely extinct in Britain they have slowly been reintroduced since the 70s, with successful reintroductions in the Cairngorms and the Isle of Mull, as well as the Isle of Wight in southern England. Because of their dependence on there being enough prey, the continued success of the reintroduction of these stunning birds rests heavily on allowing our wider coastal ecosystems to return to full health. On the Mar estate in the Cairngorms, the first successful breeding pair in 200 years fledged two chicks in 2020, a great success for what has been a massive effort in restoring these beautiful raptors. Our profits go towards protecting the wild residents of Britain’s National Parks through habitat restoration efforts and supporting the rewilding movement.
